Vegan Barbecue Sauce
π VEGAN BARBEQUE SAUCE π
A friend of mine inspired me to give Jackfruit a try after she raved about it being so delicious π€€
It is an ingredient that I had never heard much about before π€·πΌββοΈ
I bought some cans last week and decided to give it a whirl... I cooked it in this homemade barbeque sauce and I added corn so it was a take on a mexican style. Simple to make but so tasty! π€
Ingredients:
- 1 can tomato sauce
- 1 can tomato paste
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tablspoons coconut palm sugar
- 1 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce optional
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon hot sauce optional
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
Β
Method:
Add all the ingredients to a small saucepan and whisk until combined. Bring the mixture to a low simmer and partially cover with the lid. Cook for 10 - 15 minutes until the mixture has thickened.
Either use immediately or allow to cool completely and store in an airtight container in the fridge for 1 - 2 weeks.
Served with roasted potato coins (chips to dip) and other tasty bits... YUMMY! π
